Indonesia Open-2011: Saina Nehwal in Semis

4th seeded Saina Nehwal scored her third straight sets win at the ongoing Indonesia Open-2011 Super Series Premier badminton tournament that is being played at Jakarta in Indonesia. Saina defeated Tine Baun of Denmark 21-19, 21-19 to enter into the semi-finals of the tournament.

In her earlier two matches defending champion Saina Nehwal had defeated Linda Zechiri and Petya Nedelcheva of Bulgaria to set up a quarter-final clash with Tine Baun. The heartening fact for Indian fans is that all of Saina's match results at the Indonesia Open-2011 have been clear straight set wins.
Saina Nehwal is the only Indian challenge left at the prestigious Indonesia Open Super Series Premier-2011 badminton tournament. India's women's doubles pair of Jwala/Ashwini had lost in a close match in the 2nd round yesterday, while all the other Indians in the fray had crashed out in the first round itself.

Saina Nehwal is drawn to play against world no.9 Shao Chieh Cheng of Chinese Taipei in the semi-final round. Shao also has had a fantastic run in this tournament so far having won all her matches in straight sets, and has also toppled the top seed and world no.1 Shixian Wang of China in the 2nd round.
